Visiting our veterinary clinic

The best way to see one of our vets is to book an appointment. This cuts down on your wait time and allows our vets to perform a full examination and treatment of your pet. Appointments can be made for a specific vet (especially for follow-up appointments) or on a next available basis.

Appointments

Visits for your pet in the hospital can be scheduled for times when it will be beneficial to your furry companion. This will be specific to each patient, so please consult the veterinarian in charge of your pet’s case before arranging a visit.

How to bring in your pet

Please have all dogs on a lead and cats secure in a box or basket when visiting the hospital. If you are in need of a lead or carrier, they can be purchased or borrowed from reception. This is for the safety of all pets on premises.

Home visits

If you are unable to visit the hospital itself, a home visit can be arranged. A fee may be charged to cover travel time and expenses.

We are here when you need us

Emergencies

We understand that urgent matters do not run to schedule. As such, emergency services are available anytime during business hours. Should you need service out-of-hours, we refer our patients to the Animal Emergency Service on the corner of Lexington and Logan Roads in Underwood.

Surgery

Non-emergency surgery (for example elective surgery) can be scheduled Monday through Friday. Appointments can be booked several days in advance over the phone. Your pet is discharged once we are satisfied that sedation or anaesthesia has worn off. This may mean your pet stays the night in one of our comfy kennel beds. Unlike elective surgery, emergency surgeries can be handled during any business hours (including weekends).

Common Questions for Your Veterinarian in Manly, QLD

How Often Should My Pet Have a Health Check?

We recommend an annual wellness examination for most adult pets, as this allows your veterinarian in Manly, QLD, to detect early signs of illness that you may not notice. For senior pets or those with ongoing health conditions, more frequent visits every six months are advisable to manage their wellbeing proactively and ensure their comfort.

What Is Included in a Routine Vaccination Visit?

A vaccination appointment is a comprehensive health check that includes a full physical examination, discussion of parasite prevention, and updating necessary vaccines. Our veterinarian in Manly, QLD, will assess your pet’s overall health, address any concerns you have, and provide tailored advice for their lifestyle, ensuring they are protected against local disease risks.

Do You Offer Dental Care Services for Pets?

Yes, we provide complete dental care, including scale and polish procedures under general anaesthetic, tooth extractions, and oral health advice. Dental disease is very common and can significantly impact your pet’s overall health, so our veterinarian in Manly, QLD, recommends regular check-ups and professional cleans to maintain a healthy mouth.

What Should I Do in a Pet Emergency?

If you have a veterinary emergency during our opening hours, please call us immediately for advice and to let us know you are coming. Our team at Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital is equipped to handle many urgent cases, providing prompt and professional veterinary care in Manly, QLD, when your pet needs it most.
